It is a Beauteous Evening, Calm and Free
Willian Wordsworth
It is a beauteous Evening, calm and free;
The holy time is quiet as a Nun
Breathless with adoration; the broad sun
Is sinking down in its tranquility;
God being with thee when we know it not.
A walk in the evening can be a sacred time of reflection and celebration of the events and accomplishments of the day. A time to look up at the painted sky, to breathe deeply, and thank God for what He has done in my life. Here are some of the sights I encountered as the hush of holiness surrounded me on an early July evening as the summer light was fading…
For decades, especially during April through November, I observed dusk from the safety of the windows of my home. The exposure to pollens and dust were just too costly for me.
But, things have changed. I am now able to walk freely outside without fear.
Dear One, perhaps you are waiting for difficulties to change for you. Maybe you are tired of living in fear, waiting for change, watching for something to be better in your life, wondering which way you can go for healing. Exodus 14:14 “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
The LORD, the Faithful One will fight for you. There is holiness even in the hush of silence. Embrace the stillness and watch.
